I first discovered Swedish audio brand Urbanears a few years ago when looking for headphones. Their pared pack design was a breath of fresh air and over time I bought several pairs in a range of colours, so that everyone in the family was sorted! Recently Urbanears got in touch asking if I'd like to collaborate on their new range of Connected Speakers and I didn't hesitate. Having seen the campaign directed by Lotta Agaton, (the film is a must-see), I thought they looked amazing and I couldn't wait to test one out.
Available in two sizes - both named after Swedish neighbourhoods, Stammen and Baggen - the speakers offer an advanced Wi-Fi and multi-room audio experience. What's more, they are easy to use and fit seamlessly into your desired interior scheme. With the clean, pared back aesthetic that Urbanears is known for, the speakers are wrapped in acoustically transparent fabric and come in six gorgeous colours, ranging from the subdued Vinyl Black and Concrete Grey to fun brights like Dirty Pink and Plant Green.
I ended up going with the Concrete Grey because it's a great fit for our neutral-schemed interior. While our open plan living area could definitely handle the bigger size speaker, I decided on the smaller version, Stammen. Perfect for our String shelves, its compact form means it will also transition well to smaller areas like our downstairs living room and our bedroom. We could also look at getting another speaker in the future, as they are designed to work alone or together. I love the idea of combining two or more speakers to form a multi-room audio system, or setting a different mood for each room.

Packed with advanced wi-fi technology, Urbanears Connected Speakers give you the freedom to play your favourite music from a variety of different sources via Bluetooth or by hooking up the aux cord. To get started, I downloaded the Urbanears Connnected App on my phone and simply preset 7 of my favourite radio stations. Next up I'm going to add in some of my favourite Spotify speaker playlists. The app also allows you to tweak the equaliser to perfection. By simply twisting the speaker knob you can adjust the volume and change from one preset to another. Currently placed on the corner of our String shelves, this is an ideal location, being right in the middle of our open-plan space. Whether we're chilling in the living room, gathered in the kitchen or eating at the dining table, the speaker provides an awesome sound. How did we ever live without it?
