A new addition to my office, Baenk is a beautiful bench designed by Studio Nur for Danish design brand WOUD. Multifunctional with clean minimalistic lines inspired by the Nordic traditions, the bench is made of solid oak with a focus on the unique veins that bring nature inside. This element gives each bench a very special and distinctive look, and it's the first thing I noticed when it arrived. I was compelled to share a close-up of the wood on my IG stories late last week, which you may have seen, and I haven't stopped admiring it since.

I also love the versatility of the bench which can be used as both a shelf and a seat. In the circular shaped hole on the side (perfect for umbrellas or a plant) I'm going to display some native ToeToe as the long, strong stems will stand nicely when dried. The plant, which has a soft beige colour and feathery silhouette grows wild at many beaches so I need to fist do some foraging! The bench, which is inspired by old cardboard embroidery thread bobbins, has an upholstered middle section providing a super soft and comfy seat. Carefully selected to complement the structure and shades of the wood, the textile is the perfect colour for my office.
