Following on from the first part of the Luxaflex series, The Selection Process, I'm thrilled to be sharing the reveal of our dining space today. In case you missed it, in the first of this two-part series I talked about the issues we have around privacy and glare in this area of our home, and the three Luxaflex products recommended to us. Offering different elements in terms of aesthetic and functionality, these were explained to us in depth by Luxaflex, who first carried out a home visit, so that we could make the right decision for our space. After a visit to the showroom to take a closer look at the products we narrowed our choice down to two, the Duette and Silhouette blinds. We then took some fabric samples home to see how they worked in our space. Our final choice? The Silhouette blinds in Translucent, with the PowerView Battery automation.
The fabric colour we chose is Bicycle Beige, a soft neutral that fits in seamlessly with our existing interior. The translucent fabric is designed to gently filter light and the effect in our dining room is really beautiful. Creating a soft ambiance, the horizontal fabric vanes can be tilted to let through different amounts of light, and closed to give privacy. Having a separation in the blinds provides even more options. For example we can keep the left-hand side closed or titled and open the right-hand side. A favourite option while eating breakfast, it screens out neighbours while still allowing us to enjoy the outside view.
What makes these blinds even more special is the PowerView Automation, a completely cordless battery operated system, that can be installed without the need for an electrician. I love that we can easily set the blinds to suit our lifestyle - morning, day or night - with the press of a button. Following the install of our blinds Luxaflex activated the Remote and gave us a little lesson in how to use it, which is super easy. Aptly named the PowerView Pebble it's comfortable to hold and has a sleek black form. I like to keep it on the adjacent String shelf where it looks right at home!
The closed blinds make our entire open plan dining, kitchen and living area feel so much cosier in the evenings, especially on these cold winter nights. And roll on summer when we'll finally be able to dine comfortably here on hot, sunny evenings.

Overall, the Luxaflex Silhouettes have made a massive difference to our dining area and lifestyle. The quality and functionality of the blinds make them feel like a true luxury element. Quickly becoming an effortless part of our day-to-day routine, it makes me wonder how we lasted so long without them! Beautiful to look at and live with, they have elevated the entire space and we couldn't be happier with the results.
