Kinfolk has launched The Kinfolk Artwork Series consisting of three beautiful limited edition prints. An exciting extension of Kinfolk’s ethos of fostering community and celebrating the many talents of their collaborators, their first ever print series allows Kinfolk to play the role of curator in a new medium - translating the magazine and brand’s well-known aesthetics into artworks that can be hung and enjoyed in any interior.

The first three artworks feature original photographs by Kinfolk contributors Andrea Gentl, Cecilie Jegsen and Danilo Scarpati. Though each work has been chosen by the Kinfolk team for its individual beauty, they are linked through their tactility, warm tones and strong graphics.

Natura Morta / 01 is an original image created by the New York- based photographer Andrea Gentl as part of an ongoing personal series. While we can all appreciate flowers in full bloom, it's intriguing to watch the ageing process of delicate flowers, something that is captured beautifully here. Drawing on the quiet beauty found in the fragile, broken skins, Natura Morta / 01 comprises repeated and endlessly mutating patterns resulting in a richly-textured still life that captures an otherwise ephemeral moment of transition.

Helen with Yellow Turban is an original image created by the Italian photographer Danilo Scarpati. It emerged from an encounter between the photographer and Helen Nonini—a Milanese brand consultant who Scarpati photographed for an editorial profile in Kinfolk Issue Twenty-Eight. Nonini’s personal style centres on her wearing of turbans, which she has handmade by the iconic Milanese milliner Altalen. With an striking combination of pink and burnt orange, I love how the head turned away evokes a sense of mystery.

A Favorite Spot is an original image created by the Danish photographer and Kinfolk producer Cecilie Jegsen as part of a series exploring the architecture of Copenhagen’s iconic Thorvaldsens Museum. The building—built to house the oeuvre of Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen—is the oldest museum in Denmark. A Favorite Spot, taken on the steps of the museum, translates the strong lines and bright colours of architect Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll’s original neo- classical vision into graphic shapes. A slit of orange light beyond the museum’s door evokes the universal thrill of cultural discovery. Appealing to my love of architecture, history, clean lines and of course everything Denmark, I also love the warm tones in this image.

Each work was printed in Denmark on 250gsm, premium cotton paper using offset lithography in a limited edition of 250. At 56 x 76 cm, the prints feature a white border to allow for gallery-style framing, a debossed Kinfolk logo and hand-numbering in pencil. Each print is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, which includes a biography of the artist and description of the work.

The series is available to purchase exclusively through Kinfolk.com.
