I have a stunning new residential project from Golden to share with you today. Embracing the backdrop of Port Phillip Bay in Melbourne's coastal suburb of Brighton, The Esplanade references organic qualities of the landscape with a careful selection of natural materials and warm, robust textures.

Drawing from the rich tonal beauty of the bay with natural stone and warm timber offset by fine metal detailing, Golden have re-created the shell of an 80s style house into a warm, contemporary family home. A key design transformation of the four-bedroom, five-bedroom residence was the removal of the existing ornate staircase, opening up each level with a unique vertical balustrade. A grand circular form, hugged by curved concrete walls, it cleverly mimics the textural elements of a sea shell. The space now flooded with light and views through each level, affords multiple beautiful moments from every angle. A truly show-stopping entrance, visitors are welcomed into a grand foyer featuring high ceilings and Andorra Limestone flooring. The vibrant Crown Armchairs by Massproductions bring warmth and texture to the tonal space.
Creating the perfect balance of light, warmth and texture, Golden have implemented contrasting palettes so that the living spaces flow effortlessly from one to the next, connecting the outdoor terrace and front living zone to the main living spaces. To avoid disruption from the beautiful bay views, dark timber battens are used to conceal the television. In contrast, a lighter second lounge room features blonde timbers and skylights, creating an airy place to relax. In keeping with the natural, lasting material palette, minimal marbles, tiles, and colours create a sense of organic luxury.
Complimented by a considered material selection, the living area features the large scale Living Divani Sofa and sculptural pieces including the Polifom Mad Joker Armchair and Criteria Laurel Sidetable. A bespoke four metre length dinning table from Lowe Furniture is paired with Gubi Beetle Dining Chairs in a soft pink upholstery and Astep Model 2016 pendant lights.
Flos IC pendants provide diffused lighting and a touch of brass while textured linen add softness to the bedroom. Both juxtaposing the elements of a coastline, the touches of blue and Nepal sheepskin armchair designed by Paola Navone bring warmth and cosiness.

An enduring family home organic in texture and low in maintenance, The Esplanade balances the soft and fluid with the strong and long lasting.
