Sharing a look at the ferm LIVING Autumn/Winter '19 Collection today, the Danish brand has delivered a range of furniture and objects that explore the concept of the home through contrasts and tactile experiences. Celebrating a love of nature, the collection includes handicrafts and recycled materials across a neutral palette that comes alive with bold pops of colour.
The new collection introduces the Hebe Lamp Series, a collection of hand-sculpted lamps, that immediately caught my eye. A twist on the classic lamp, they combine bold, feminine shapes with an artistic touch. Initially sculpted by hand, the ceramic base comes in three sizes and finishes - a matte and light finish as well as high-gloss glazing - and can be combined with one of the matching textile lampshades of the series, available in a natural off-white or bolder curry.
There are some stunning new furniture pieces, including sculptural additions to the elegant Rico Series, with the Ottoman, Divan and Lounge Chair Swivel. New tables include the Distinct Coffee Table and Distinct Side Table (I especially love the travertine finish) and the Place Side Table. I also love the new Oblique Stool, shown below in a delightful yellow stained ash. Further introductions to lighting include the new hand-braided rattan Braided Lampshades which bring a natural touch to the home, and the Rest Lamp, which features a textural marble base.
Revisiting the tradition of hanging platters, ferm LIVING has created the hand-painted Ceramic Platter Series as a tribute to womanhood. Featuring a simple yet striking silhouette of a woman, the beautiful series of consists of five platters in warm, earthy colours.
The popular Ripple glassware series has expanded to include the mouth-blown Ripple Wine Glasses. Elegantly paired with the Japanese inspired Sekki Series, I love the new cream coloured glaze with tiny grey speckles. This series is also joined by the Sekki Coffee Pot, Coffee Dripper and Milk jar.
The use of recycled materials that I mentioned at the start of the post can be seen in the new Pile Bathroom Mat, which is woven from upcycled plastic bottles. Creating a soft and rich texture that is perfect for underfoot, the muted colourway shown below is so beautiful! The Shell Pot from the last collection is still a firm favourite.
Storage is such an important element for the office space and ferm LIVING have created a stylish solution with the Paper Pulp Box. Made from biodegradable and environmentally raw paper pulp, this lidded box provides a subtle and stackable storage solution that will also be useful in other areas of the home. As demonstrated below, the bestselling Plant Box, which has evolved for multipurpose use, now comes in a rich and creamy cashmere colour.
As is always the case, I have trouble narrowing down my picks with ferm LIVING, so here's a few more to finish, including the Port Fireplace Tools, the new shade lighting range in Cashmere, the Balance Candleholders in new colours (loving the Macaroon!) and Uno Candles in a range of gorgeous colours.
There are also lots more accessories and textile products to get excited about! To see the new collection in its entirety, visit Fermliving.com.
