An Inspiring New Home for Oslo Design Store Houz

I haven't yet travelled to Norway, but if I do, the Oslo-based design store Houz would be my first stop! Known for their beautifully curated range of furniture and homewares, Houz has just relocated to Vinslottet, a former brewery built in 1932 and famous landmark in Løren. Carefully renovated, the beautiful brick building now houses apartments, restaurants and shops, and provides the perfect new location for Houz and their offering of high quality, timeless design.

Houz was founded in 2013 by Linda Veggeland, with a focus on sustainability and personalised service. The product range, a mix of Norwegian and international design, consists of high quality furniture and homewares selected with Linda's great sense of style. She says the new store opening follows a year of planning and researching new brands. This hard work is certainly evident in the store's beautiful new interior as well as the extensive new offering.

"We believe in homes with personality where we can gather with family and friends - and unwind after busy days. The best way to achieve a home with this balance is with a well planned interior. At Houz we have put together a unique range of interior accessories and furniture to create this balance - a modern home with character and contrasts. We love timeless and classic design, shapes and functionality - and the history of our products. We find inspiration in every corner of the world and offer timeless pieces of high quality that can be passed on to the next generation in your family."— Linda Veggeland, founder of Houz

In addition to the existing brands and well loved art and craft designers brought across from the previous store, Houz welcomes many exciting new additions. These include Ariake, Form and Refine, Pallucco, and Astep Design, as well as Belgian brand When Objects Works, Tre Sekel from Sweden with Matti Carlsson's beautiful tables, lighting from Danish designer Tom Rosseau and beautiful sofas from Norwegian brand Hjelle. Houz are also exhibiting kitchens and other interior products from Ask og Eng, who happen to be another one of my favourite Oslo-based brands to follow on Instagram. The store also offers some unique art pieces by Fino Prydz, Studio Sussanna Volker, Jo Elbourne and Hayley McCrirrick
