I'm excited to have teamed up once again with Dulux to create a neutral themed living room for Two Ways With, in the latest issue of Homestyle. Along with fellow interior stylist and Dulux Colour Ambassador Evie Kemp, who created the contrasting brightly themed space, our brief was to convey personal connections to places in Aotearoa using paint from the Dulux Colours of New Zealand Collection.
As part of the process, we were given a list of all the paint colours in the collection, with their corresponding place name descriptions. Dulux Ōpononi Double immediately made me think of one of my favourite childhood books about Opo the dolphin who became famous in the mid 50's for playing with the kids in the small town of Ōpononi. Located in Northland, where some of my favourite beaches are, I'd love to visit with my family. The paint colour, which reflects the white sand and giant dunes this area is known for, was the perfect starting point for creating a relaxing sanctuary.

The feature includes additional paint colours which I chose for my final palette. To see it in full, pick up a copy of the current Homestyle, now on sale. It's a beautiful issue!
And in case you missed it, you can check out the first Dulux/Homestyle collaboration here.
