Inspired by the bright Nordic light, Nordiska Kök has created an updated look for the classic shaker kitchen with a minimal framework, neutral colour scheme, smart functions and beautiful details. Effortlessly fusing classic elements with a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic, The Nordic Light kitchen created for a home in Malmö, Sweden, is a timeless space designed to last many generations.
The Landala table is designed by Emma Olbers and the Pinnstol chairs are by Norrgavel. The bespoke display cabinet, site-built to match the wall cabinets, gives the feeling of a classic serving cabinet. Featuring a white pigmented oak interior that adds a warm and textural contrast, it also integrates seamlessly with the rest of the kitchen.
The walls, fan and shelf have been painted in the same soft hue, creating a calming tonal effect. The discreet open shelf enhances the kitchen’s light and airy feel, providing a place to display beautiful ceramics, and the Jura limestone benchtop injects further warmth and interest.
