Together with Nordiska Kök, Swedish interior designer Lotta Agaton and her daughter Filippa have created an innovative yet timeless kitchen. Designed for the smaller home, in a style that fuses the classic shaker kitchen with Scandinavian minimalism, the kitchen has been created for compact living without compromising on design elements or functionality.
As talented designers in their respective fields - Filippa Agaton is an up and coming fashion designer - you would expect this mother and daughter duo to create magic, and they certainly have. A carefully selected colour scale and material palette set the tone for the space. As explained by Lotta, "When you decorate a small apartment, you often use the cheapest alternatives and material choices, but when it is such a small area, it is usually not that much more expensive to go for the very best instead.”
This approach carries through to all of the design elements which include handleless cabinets with servo function and smart solutions such as fully integrated appliances, a hidden oven and a built in fan in the induction hob.
Despite its compact size, the layout of the kitchen is well thought out to maximise space. A full-size fridge and freezer, oven, stove and dishwasher are all seamlessly built in. A beautiful oak display cabinet with glass doors displays favourite ceramics, while draws in solid oak house cutlery and kitchen utensils. A Dornbracht faucet contrasts with the calm Thala grey worktop and the bespoke wooding dining furniture is designed by Lotta Agaton.

The Scandinavian Compact Living Kitchen will be a part of Nordiska Kök's permanent collection. As with all of their kitchens, it can be customised in terms of colours and design elements, creating a truly bespoke solution that caters to individuals’ needs.
