One of my favourite features of our home is the pitched roofing upstairs, which gives the open plan living area an amazing sense of light and space. I've come across a couple of fantastic examples lately that I want to share with you, along with some images I've picked out from my Pinterest boards.

A complimentary feature, I love the warmth that natural timber beams bring to these rooms. You'll also notice some have skylights, which help maximise natural daylight. This would be especially helpful in Scandinavia, where the winters are long and dark.
