I was very excited to receive news in my inbox yesterday of Shelter 7, a gorgeous new lifestyle store in Australia. Launched late last year, it is the brainchild of husband and wife team Theunis and Rebecca Meyer. As owners of the popular children's store La De Da Kids, they often received requests for adult versions of their existing homewares. In response they set about creating a 'grown up' concept, and Shelter 7 was born.

The couple are dedicated to finding, sourcing and making products that are ethically made, well designed, unique, and beautiful.  With both an online store and showroom in Victoria, they offer a carefully sourced collection of curiosities for the shelter we live and exist in. Now, several months on they have just released their first exclusive range called Ethereal.

One look at the beautiful products and I knew I had to spread the love, and fast! Constructed mainly from cotton yarn, the hand crafted range is exquisite. It includes cotton bed throws, lamp shades, cushions, storage baskets, floor mats and a knitted ottoman. I'll take one of each please!

Rebecca and Theunis are very proud of the ethical way in which their products are manufactured. A combination of machine knitted and hand made items, the pieces are made by women in China and India, in the comfort of their own homes, enabling them to work around childcare and the needs of their families. That love shows through in the collection, a mix of classic investment pieces that stand the test of time, and ever-changing trends that emerge.

Rebecca says this is just the beginning for the Shelter 7 brand, so to keep up to date with new arrivals, pop over here and sign up to their newsletter. You can also follow along on Facebook and Instagram
