The latest issue of BNZ GoodHome has just been published, so I can now tell you more about my decluttering post I mentioned here. With a focus on organisation and storage we wanted to create another DIY solution - you may remember the Christmas Trestle Table from last year - but this time with an upcycling twist. While I had input into the overall design, including colours and materials, credit must go to our superstar builder John Cockswho started with an old chest of drawers picked up off the side of the road in an inorganic collection. Now a fantastic shelving unit, I'm sure you'll agree it's a pretty remarkable transformation. To see the before photos, as well as a list of materials and step by step instructions, take a look here.

In addition to the Declutter your Home post and Trends for 2015 (mentioned above), I write about my top tips for updating the bathroom, and a window furnishings post that includes a fantastic reader offer AND a chance to win a $500 voucher to spend at Lahood Window Furnishings. All this and more great articles from Cocksy and our property expert Stephen Hart. Enjoy!
A mix of natural and white-painted plywood, the unit has a simple, clean, streamlined look that I love. It's also highly functional, providing the enclosed space at the bottom for storing items, and open shelving to display those things that you love. To complete the Scandi-style look, I styled the unit with beautiful Hay accessories from Cult Design, and a few of my own items. I also wanted to incorporate some of the 2015 trends I had mentioned in another of the GoodHome articles I wrote here, such as earthy colours, natural materials, plants, marble and metallics. The Copper Flower Pot by Cooee and Louise Roe Copper Candleholder from Norsu worked perfectly. My favourite piece however is the Fade to Grey Volume lamp by Gam Fratesi for Lightyears that you may remember from this post. Also available in Evergreen, it is from Cult Design.
