I was really excited to receive an email from Hunting for George this week, with news of their Winter collection, Moody Blues. Having caught my attention a while back via Instagram, the Australian homeware brand has a fun, fresh vibe that I know will appeal to many of you. Launched in 2010 by sister duo Lucy Glade-Wright and Jo Harris, their initial offering of just three brands soon grew, and before they knew it they were moving into creating their own range of products. With the success of their first line, a range of print designs, they then began to expand their collection to include handmade clocks, pure cotton bed linen, textile accessories and most recently Australian Made furniture.
Moody Blues is the third textile collection from Hunting for George and welcomes a distinctive masculine tone, with darker colours and simplified graphics. Styled alongside their recently launched Oliver Furniture Collection, inside a warehouse setting with painted brick walls and huge feature windows, the vibe is cool, relaxed and inviting.
“We always design for a unisex audience however this season does have a more masculine overtone. Our focus was pulled towards creating an emotive, nostalgic collection that was confident in its simplicity and character. “ Lucy Glade-Wright
The Moody Blues collection also introduces a luxurious new range of textures to accompany the popular Hunting for George pure cotton sateen bed linen. Perfect for winter layering these include 100% Australian Merino Wool blankets, buffalo leather cushion covers and hand poured concrete clocks.
"These designs are all about luxury and we hope they will be cherished for many years to come.” Jo Harris
Art Direction by Lucy Glade-Wright, styling by Simone Haag and photography by Eve Wilson
