Exciting news for fans of Vee Speers today, the renowned Paris-based Australian artist has launched a new series, Botanica. The series, which features four captivating floral images, is being exclusively printed and sold as posters by Danish company VISSEVASSE who I first featured in this Friday Finds post. While the subject matter may differ from Vee Speers two incredible photographic portrait series The Birthday Party and Thirteen, the flowers have actually been photographed as if they were people - as portraits, allowing her to bring out the personality of each of them. Vee says the Botanica series symbolises a moment’s calm in a world that is growing increasingly complex. There is no doubting the calming effects of nature, and what a beautiful way to bring some of it indoors.
