Fitzroy Loft by Architects EAT

Completed in 2015, this warehouse conversion is the work of Architects EAT, an award-winning architecture and interior design practice in Melbourne. Located in the old industrial area of Fitzroy, the gritty brick building has been transformed into a family home with a mixture of open plan entertaining areas and smaller intimate spaces. Exposed bricks and beams together with new architectural detailing in steel and timber make for an incredible fusion between old and new.

How amazing is the suspended steel bridge? I also love the sliding door adjacent the dining area (pictured below) and the built in library. Clean and contemporary, the kitchen's soft grey palette and textural marble allows for a seamless connection to the more rustic living space. The sleek cabinetry has been used throughout the home, creating a wonderful sense of cohesion. The interior features a beautifully understated mix of furniture and design objects. Two pieces which immediately caught my eye are the leather Paulistano Chair and theHigh Key Tokyo Print by Derek Swalwell, while the stunning combination of lighting has me weak at the knees!
