I recently had the opportunity to choose a print from Endemic World, a NZ-based company who specialise in sourcing limited edition art prints. Continually curating a selection of art from a range of talented NZ and international artists, designers, illustrators, and photographers, their online catalogue is extensive and incredibly diverse. As such, it wasn't an easy choice but one genre I'm loving right now is photographic art. While I am inspired by international travel and design, there is so much natural beauty here in NZ and as I've mentioned many times before, the beach is my happy place. I believe we have some of the best beaches in the world and when I saw a photographic print of one my favourite places, Tawharanui Regional Park, a marine and wildlife reserve, it immediately went to my shortlist, eventually becoming my final pick. Entitled Sanctuary, it is by Jenna Smith, an Auckland based photographer working between Australia and NZ, whose photographs are based on the ocean and its many moods. Photographs evoke such powerful emotions and I find this piece both calming and energising to look at. Endemic World also offer custom framing and I chose the beautiful bespoke oak frame. The horizontal orientation also appealed to me as this style of print works really well in a gallery wall mix. It also looks incredible on its own and I have to say I'm loving having it right here in my office.
