Creatista Pop-Up Café

The interior project I mentioned last week has finally come to fruition and I'm so excited to share it with you today. Opening its doors to the public on Friday for a limited time, the Creatista Café celebrates the launch of Nespresso’s latest machine, Creatista, with a unique twist... the coffee is complimentary and the space is designed to feel just like home.

My task was to create a homely vibe inspired by the Creatista and its innovative automatic steam-wand technology. A unique concept, I wanted to create a living area that would not only fit seamlessly within a cafe environment but also exude the feeling of a stylish, comfortable home. Choosing a natural colour palette with a mix of welcoming greys and neutrals, the walls have been painted in Dulux Mt Albert and Dulux Okarito. I then curated the space with a beautiful mix of furniture and homewares from leading furniture, homeware and lighting specialists including Città and Cult Design,  ECC and Simon James Design. Building on the relaxed atmosphere and my love of Scandinavian design, I incorporated warm wood, textual layers and graphic accents, all of which complement the clean lines and understated elegance of the furniture. Lighting also plays a key part in bringing the home element to the space, with a combination of beautiful statement pieces. Art prints from Father Rabbit and Duett Design including a mix of handpainted abstract and New Zealand photography, were carefully selected to inject further personality and warmth.

Located at Three Lamps, Ponsonby, the café will be open from 11 - 20 November between 7am and 2pm, so if you're in Auckland and you love coffee make sure you stop by! Some of Auckland’s top baristas will also be on-hand to teach customers how to create simple latte art using the Creatista and Lewis Road Creamery’s premium milk range.
