Danish brand House Doctor have just released their Summer 2017 Catalogue and there's plenty of inspiration. Centred around the idea of slowing down, the new season offers furniture and accessories designed to offer a break from the constant motion of modern life. With a focus on materials, surfaces and colours that make us feel comfortable and grounded, the new collection makes nature the hero of the home, which in my book is always a good thing! With a shift towards bolder and more experimental combinations and contrasting materials, it's great to see that metals like brass and warm gold tones are staying put. There's also an abundance of warm textures and imperfect forms such as ceramic plates and beautiful wooden details in dark tones. When it comes to textiles, the art deco inspired trend with lavish materials such as velvet continues into 2017.

As always, the House Doctor Catalogue is really diverse and for this season the products are grouped under headings such as 'Green Living', 'Small Spaces' (with a gorgeous, must-see beach cabin), 'Decorating Details', 'Vases' (floral heaven) and my favourite 'In The Living Room'. With a focus on creating a quiet place to escape to during precious downtime, the living room is also a place for social gatherings. With their beautiful range of products, House Doctor demonstrates how to create a multifunctional space to accommodate these changing needs.
