Based in Krakow, Poland, Mleko Living is a design studio that creates simple objects for everyday use, in cooperation with local craftsmen. Founded in 2017 by Katarzyna Goluszka and Michal Zaluski, the pair developed a shared interest in the functionality and aesthetics of human surroundings through studying architectural design, whilst living in different European cities.
Their new stoneware collection Canvas was created to bring ease and harmony into everyday life. Simple forms and sustainable use of materials are the focal points of the collection which consists of five beautiful objects: a bowl, a flowerpot, a vase, a carafe and a mug. Handmade in a family run ceramic factory in Southern Poland, each piece is fired in a high temperature to ensure durability, while a transparent finish is used to highlight the beauty of the stoneware.
In terms of pared back simplicity and everyday functionality, the Canvas stoneware collection ticks all the boxes. The size of the bowl makes it really versatile and I love the unique shape of the carafe.
