Following on from my previous post and the production tour of Erik Jørgensen in Svendborg, I then moved on to the beautiful city of Copenhagen to attend the exciting showroom opening. Located at Bredgade, one of the most prominent streets in Copenhagen, the new showroom will focus on the home collection, while their existing showroom at Pakhus will focus on the contract collection.
‘We have been at Pakhus 48 for eight years and are very happy there. The architectural environment in Nordhavn is incredibly dynamic and visually inspiring. At the same time, we are aware of the heightened focus on exhibitions in the inner part of Copenhagen, especially Bredgade. Therefore, we decided to take this opportunity to have two locations in Copenhagen, each with its own focus.’- CEO Niels Jørgensen.
The new showroom is located in a historic building that was built between 1754 and 1757. It features a beautiful entrance and courtyard where were greeted by a spectacular balloon installation. Divided into three sections that once included stables and a home for residents, I was interested to learn that Danish writer Hans Christian Andersen even lived there for a short period. Erik Jørgensen is situated on the first floor, and Danish furniture brand Montana has its showroom on the second floor.
In collaboration with architect Tine Mouritsen, the showroom has been decorated with a strong focus on the home collection, but in a completely new way. Comprising four stunning rooms, each has its own theme and colour palette; The Botanical Garden, the Office, Tranquillity, and the Blue Room. "It has been a close collaboration with Niels Jørgensen – everything from selecting furniture to textiles and the colour of the rooms’ -Tine Mouritsen.
Though each space has its own unique expression, the rooms flow beautifully from one to the next, effortlessly showcasing the brands design classics and newer furniture pieces. These were complimented by a superb selection of lighting by Flos.
The Office. Undoubtedly the most classic, this room is also luxurious. Featuring the legendary Ox Chair in the corner, the stunning bordeaux leather upholstery matches the Montana system. The Insula Base table, in black with a wooden rim is surrounded by the new Eyes Arm Chair in a delicate Vegeta leather, providing the perfect location for cosy meetings.
If you are in Copenhagen be sure to visit the new Erik Jørgensen Home Showroom at Bredgade 76. The rooms are even more captivating in real life!

Botanical Garden. One of my favourite rooms, I find the green palette so calming. Featuring furniture, walls and flooring in tone on tone earthy hues, the inspiration derives from botanical gardens and international trends, with plants as a big part of the décor. A beautiful curation of seating encourages further relaxation, with the green Hector sofa, luscious velvet Queen chair and soft AV chaise lounge.
Tranquillity. A room set entirely in white, this serene space creates a sense of purity, providing the perfect contrast to the bold furniture classics. The Delphi sofa in white leather makes you feel like you are floating on air, while the Corona Spectrum, completely dressed in white, is a perfect match with the classic EJ 280 sofa.
The Blue Room. From the pure white haven to the cosiness of a room in dark blue, this gorgeous space has a dramatic expression. So inviting, I couldn't help but be drawn to the beautiful Spring sofa while admiring the gorgeous roses hanging from the ceiling above.
