Recently I teamed up with Laminex and Dulux to showcase Surround by Laminex™, a new range of pre-primed, ready to paint decorative wall panels. Asked to choose two of my favourite profiles and use my signature Nordic-inspired style to create two spaces, here's what I came up with...
The first space is a light, earth-toned living room featuring Surround by Laminex Demi Round 20, and the second is a moody bedroom featuring Surround by Laminex Classic VJ 100. I chose these two Surround by Laminex profiles to showcase contrasting styles and their versatility in different spaces - both classical and contemporary. To emphasise this further, I used Dulux paint colours in both light and dark hues.
I chose the Classic VJ 100 profile - a timeless tongue and groove panelling - for the bedroom to create a built-in bedhead as well as a shelf for displaying art, books, and sculptural objects. The dark charcoal colour of Dulux Rāwene adds a touch of drama.

For the living room, I chose the Demi Round 20 profile. Bringing warmth and character, the narrow curving rods painted in a soft neutral (Dulux Kai Iwi Lakes) provide a textural yet refined backdrop for the pared-back, Japanese/Nordic-inspired space.
Working with the Surround by Laminex product, I was excited to see how much it elevated the spaces. I love that the timber panels come pre-primed and ready to paint, and the range of profiles spark so many ideas for future interior projects. I’m already looking forward to using it again!
