It's been a work in progress for a while, but the bed side of Marlow's room is now finished. I had fun getting creative with the opposite side when it was included in the 3M series, but this side still needed to be brought up to scratch. An added highlight with this post has been getting to use my new camera for the first time. It's a challenging room to photograph, and having worked with some gorgeous online stores and brands to pull this together, I'm so glad I could capture all of the gorgeous bedding and accessories with the clarity they deserve!
We started with the Brooklyn bed from Mocka, which fits in perfectly with our white palette and love of simple design. In addition we have the Mocka Bed Box, a set of double drawers that fit under the bed. Ideal for extra storage, I use them for spare sheets and pillowcases, while Marlow likes to stash a few of his favourite books. The castor wheels means he can easily slide them in and out himself. Much to my delight Marlow chose the beautiful By Nord Wolf Quilt Cover, which along with the iconic Pia Wallen Cross Blanket and beautiful Icelandic Sheepskin, is from norsu interiors.
As soon as I stumbled across the Crown Pillowcases by Jennifer + Smith online I knew they would be perfect for Marlow's room. While it was the gorgeous, minimalist design that initially caught my eye, I've since discovered that the feel of the organic cotton is what makes these pillowcases even more special. So incredibly soft, they really are fit for a king or queen! The monochrome grid design of the Surface Support cushion by Kowtow clothing (who are also known for their use of organic cotton) adds a nice finishing touch to the bedding.
I bought the shadow boxes back when we first moved in, but I was never happy with their mix of white, natural wood and green finishes. After giving them a few coats of Resene Black White to match our walls, I'm now satisfied. As is Marlow who uses them to house some of his favourite little toys such as the Sorry Angel Kewpie Dolls and the Cubebot Ninja which I got from Leo and Bella. A regular haunt of mine, it's also where I got our new Lucky Boy Sunday friend Mr Bell Wine and the cute Noodoll Dino Wall Hook. The Naked Lunge dolls Nigel and Bunny Boy from Simon James Concept Store are also well-loved.
I had been wanting some of the Hay Gym Hooks for a long time so was thrilled when Simon James Concept Store recently started stocking them. I used 3M adhesive strips to attach them because just as I suspected, Marlow likes to pull them off the wall! The Velcro means he can do so as he pleases, without causing any damage. They are still strong enough to hang light items of clothing, so we use them for his next-day-outfit or PJ's. The cute cloud coat hanger is from Perch Home.
The Graphic Alphabets Print by RK Design, purchased long ago from The Minimalist has always been a favourite in our living room, but after a recent reshuffle it has ended up here, where it looks right at home. I hunted down the grey Felt Garland by felt Foxes for Jennifer + Smith to complete the look.
