We're seeing a lot of textural blues coming through in interiors this year by way of watercolour artworks and tactile fabrics and ceramics. Danish design house Broste Copenhagen have highlighted this trend beautifully in their Spring/Summer 2015 Lookbook. Inspired by the life of a working artist, the story created for this season really does make it feel as though you are stepping into an artist's workspace. The blue watercolours provide a stunning backdrop for the new range.

Broste Copenhagen teamed up with talented illustrator and graphic designer Silke Bonde to produce the beautiful watercolour artworks, and as you can see from her own personal collection below, blue is a common theme. I love the subtlety of these prints, which allow you to add small touches of blue texture to your home.
Multi-award winning Australian interior design practice Hare + Klein have launched an exciting collaboration with Designer Rugs. With texture as the common thread of the collection, they have incorporated raw and tactile materials including wool, hemp, silk and bamboo. The rugs have all been hand-dyed in Katmandu using a technique called Abrash, which creates subtle colour variation and character, adding to the unique qualities of each rug. The two rugs below, Etched by Eloise Fotheringham and Swept by Melanie Kightley feature beautiful blue tones.

An established brand in modern Danish design, Casalinga was launched by ceramicist and designer Trine Weng in 2008. Staying true to an unmistakably Scandinavian expression, the products are driven and characterised by equal parts functionalism, storytelling and quality. Once again the appeal of textural blues is apparent, this time with a range of hand-made porcelain vases, bowls and candlesticks.
