It's the first week of the school holidays so I am taking things down a notch on the work front to spend time with my boys. While the styling projects are on hold, I'm still hoping to blog most days, but please forgive me if I miss a day here or there! Now for today's inspiring home...
This is definitely going straight to my holiday home (aka The Nordic Barn) dreams folder!

Located at the base of Grouse Mountain, the 1950s property has been transformed into a modern day retreat by Vancouver based architects Scott & Scott. Bringing it in to the 21st century, they have respectfully preserved its historical charm while also celebrating its wonderful connection to nature.
I love the openness and simplicity of this home. The neutral palette and mix of Douglas fir beams and concrete floors is such a winning combination. As are the iconic Hans Wegner Wishbone Chair and CH25 Armchair paired with cosy warm throws. Simple open shelving in the kitchen gives a laid back feel, while the the huge marble slab benchtop is very much the hero piece. I also love the simple room divider made of plywood storage cabinets.
