Acquired by Boffi in 2015, De Padova then opened their beautiful new showroom in Milan to celebrate the merging of the two incredible brands. The open-plan, loft apartment style space was designed by Piero Lissoni, art director of Boffi and now also at De Padova. Located in Corso Venezia, the industrial space which was originally a pharmaceutical laboratory housed the Dolce and Gabbana headquarters for 30 years. Split over different levels, the building has large window and skylights which project a soft natural light. The design purposefully moves away from a traditional store which simply sells furniture items, instead offering a complete range of furniture, objects and services. The internal team of architects collaborate with top partners in all fields, offering a customised and complete home project. This includes the best partnerships for walls and floors, fabrics for upholstery and curtains, lighting, objects and furniture, selected works of art like paintings and sculptures, antique rugs and modern exclusive fittings. The showroom reflects the elegant, refined Milanese style that Maddalena De Padova interpreted so exclusively in the 50 years of her extraordinary entrepreneurial life. I would certainly love to visit one day!
