I recently wrote a post on wallpaper, featuring new ideas and styling tips for the next issue of BNZGoodHome. I just got word that it is going live next week so I'll be sure to share it with you. Unsurprisingly I gathered lots of inspo from Scandinavian designers, including Swedish company Photowall. Just today I saw that they have released a stunning new collection Nordic Moods, in collaboration with Scandinavian Surface. The award-winning Norway-based designers are known for their elegant style, and beautiful nature-inspired silhouettes, finding beauty in torn and withered flora. I'm in love! These three styled looks feature Panorama, Winter Wilderness and Lost Landscape have left me wanting to see more, but you can check out the full range here.

I first discovered Copenhagen-based ceramicist Anne Black when I attended The Working Party at Source Home + Object last month. I immediately took a shine to her beautiful handcrafted porcelain products. Stumbling across her home that she shares with husband Jesper Moseholm and their three children, I was naturally curious to see how she lives. Beautiful high ceilings and herringbone parquet flooring provide an impressive backdrop, but it is Anne's wonderful curation of furniture, lighting, artwork and objects that really bring the spaces to life.
Her expansive light-filled dining room is my favourite area. A simple table surrounded by a mix of chairs and and natural overlapping rugs underfoot, Anne's beautiful porcelain adorns the table.
Art on the table and books on the floor give the living space a relaxed feel without being cluttered. Every piece, whether it be new like the Tom Dixon Offcut Stool or a second-hand find like the filing cabinets has been carefully chosen. The end result is an eclectic, personal and harmonious interior.
Photography by Christoffer RegildA few unique pieces in the living room have caught my eye. The Shiraz sofa designed by Philipp Mainzer + Farah Ebrahimi for E15 has such an elegant yet versatile design, while the beautiful Japanese Space Divider and Woven Rugs are from BCXSY, an Amsterdam-based interdisciplinary cooperative between designers Boaz Cohen and Sayaka Yamamoto. Visit Anne Black to find out more about her elegant and timeless ceramics collection. For NZ enquries contact Source Home + Object.

Melbourne-based creative practice Mim Design was one of the first interior design companies I ever featured here on TDC. Their residential projects are sophisticated, refined and quite frankly awe-inspiring. The kind of 'grown-up' homes I dream about, I often find myself lingering over their portfolio of work, studying the many facets that make up their overall design which you can see is always approached in a thoughtful and holistic manner. About a month ago I was stalking their Instagram feed - a must-follow if you haven't already - and I came across one of their recent projects, Portsea Residence. An image of the kitchen featuring beautiful wood panelling and natural stone left me swooning, and it wasn't long before I was checking out the full house tour on their website.
Mim Design director Miriam Fanning has along with her team, created a gallery-esque pavilion style coastal hideout. The large family home, located in the the tiny coastal town of Portsea, on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula has a simplified sense of calm. In keeping with the coastal location, the elements were chosen for their tactile nature and ability to foster a sense of casual, refined and modern seaside luxury. They include slatted timber wall panels, super soft knotted wool carpets and natural stone benches. The overall result is a beautifully relaxing home that feels both sleek and soothing. Stunning artworks by Kristian van der Beek and Kirra Jamison add a touch of colour to the predominantly grey and neutral palette. As part of the recent Dulux 2016 Colour Trends announcement I was very lucky to receive an incredible bouquet of flowers and collection of room scents, which you may have seen me share on Instagram. A collaboration with Lucy Houghton of Lu Diamond Flowers and master perfumer Emma Leah of Fleurage, Dulux created a true sensory experience to showcase the four themes that make up the exciting forecast, Infinite Worlds, Bio Fragility, Retro Remix and Future Past. In particular I was drawn to the Summer palette Bio Fragility which under the creative director of Australian stylists Bree Leech and Heather Nette King tells of beautiful summer interiors inspired by a soft collection of muddy pastels derived from nature.
I love that the palette has evolved from the pastel feel of last year to a more muted one. Taking inspiration from nature by way of moss, stone and chalky elements, the colours work well paired with neutral accessories to create beautifully soft and subdued combinations.
Comprising delicate hues such as greys, dirty pinks, nudes and natural greens, Dulux Colour Expert, Andrea Lucena-Orr, says the key colours of summer, such as Dulux Mangaweka, Old Eagle, Silkwort, Partita and Manorburn Half, create a beautiful, tranquil setting that is very easy to live with in the home. “Homeowners can create a relaxed interior with beautiful detail by introducing these gentle summer hues that add a touch of colour but are not overwhelming. Pale colours derived from natural matter creates softness in a space and can be counterbalanced with unexpected mixes of warm and cool shades together to add interest.” Styling by Bree Leech and Heather Nette King / Photography by by Lisa CohenWith summer calling for a more refined offering of hues, the season’s colours can be easily adapted to virtually any room. For those not bold enough to transform an entire room, try using these refreshing and light colours in smaller volumes on accents, trims and accessories. For more colour or painting advice visit www.dulux.co.nzImages courtesy of Dulux

Danish design brand Menu has launched a soft furnishings collection, Nepal Projects. Developed in collaboration with Denmark's development cooperation in Danida, Nepal Projects provides much-needed fair employment and future opportunities in one of the world’s poorest countries by combining traditional fabric working skills with a Scandinavian design aesthetic.
“Nepal Projects grew from our desire to use Menu as a platform for making a positive difference. Many young Nepali women from poor families risk being lured into prostitution. Through education of children and employment of young women we offer a sound and viable alternative. The Nepal Projects is our way to celebrate great craftsmanship, while helping vulnerable workers secure a better future for themselves and their families.”– Bjarne Hansen, owner & founder of Menu.
To create the collection, Menu worked with four Scandinavian studios including Danish studio Norm Architects, Stockholm design agency Afteroom, Swedish collective Note Design Studio and Danish interiors brand A Hint of Neon. Together they worked closely with locals in Nepal to unite new designs with ancient craft techniques.
The result makes up part of the new Menu collection of home accessories and includes exquisite hand-weaved scarves and blankets, textural cushions, practical desktop containers, roomy laundry bags, and sweet little teddy bears for kids and grown-ups alike.Images via Menu, Note Design Studio and Afteroom
Himalayan cashmere, merino wool, leather and cotton of the finest quality are the main ingredients in the collection. Bridging traditions of East and West, the carefully crafted items are finished in muted grey, blue, green and red tones to suit a minimalistic Scandinavian home decoration style.

I love the natural element that fresh flowers and plants bring to a space and as such, they are a common feature in my styling work. Instagram followers will have seen the beautiful Bloom Social flowers and products popping up in my feed a lot lately, but for those in Auckland who haven't yet caught on, I'm going to tell you all about their wonderful service.
Three days a week Bloom Social select beautiful seasonal blooms and put together their Blooms of the Day. These are then revealed on Instagram and Facebook, and shared directly with their email subscribers. Taking orders from 10am till 1pm, or until the blooms sell out, they then head off to deliver the stunning bouquets around Auckland CBD and selected suburbs.
For added convenience, you can purchase a Blooms Subscription, and have the Blooms of the Day delivered either weekly, fortnightly or monthly at a special subscription rate. The perfect treat for you or someone special, I'm very lucky to have been given a fortnightly subscription up until Christmas. My Friday arrival ensures I am set for the weekend and I have flowers at the ready for any styling projects I'm currently working on. Aside from this truly unique service, what I believe really makes Bloom Social stand out from the crowd is their overall style and attention to detail. Differing slightly to that of standard florist bouquets, the Blooms of the Day have a relaxed, freshly picked from the garden look which is really refreshing. The perfect fit for my styling aesthetic and home, the soft tonal palette is designed to work beautifully in any interior. Carefully wrapped in crisp white paper (the blue paper above was for a special collaboration) I love the balsa wood label and personalised leaf tags. Bloom Social are also working on keeping wastage to a minimum by recycling any leftover flowers and working them into beautiful handmade products. Providing the perfect little add on to go with their Blooms of the Day deliveries, the hand-poured Vanilla Bean Soy Candles are divine. Styling and photography by Michelle Halford for TDCBloom Social have also started to introduce a selection of Potted Botanical gifts, such as the Potted Philodendron in my office above. You'll also find the Blooms of the Day at Father Rabbit. To find out more about the service, including delivery areas take a look here.

Sorry for being MIA yesterday. I have a lot going on right now with both work and family. I really wish I could clone myself at times, especially when meetings take up those precious school hours and we then have to rush off to classes like Hip Hop and Karate! I'm collaborating with a few different companies on styled blog posts, so there are good things happening and I'm also hoping to start work on a little outdoor project soon. It's been on hold since we moved in because I haven't got around to painting or staining our deck but I've finally started to put the wheels in motion. If it comes to fruition you will be the first to know! In the meantime I'm looking for ideas that fit with my vision of creating a relaxing little summer haven. There will be low-level furniture including a daybed, which I've just ordered, possibly a coffee table and some beanbags, and a scattering of cushions and throws. All very soft and textural, I'm imagining a beautiful summer palette of pastels and muted tones. These Country Road Home Summer 2015 campaign images are providing great outdoor inspiration, even the bedroom!
Loving the resort vibes and of course those natural cane and woven elements I keep harping on about!

The new home of renowned photography app VSCO, these offices were designed by DeBartolo Architects and are located in one of Oakland's last remaining historic downtown buildings. Stripped back to wood, concrete and glass to expose the structure and bones of the building, the open plan design is free from partitions to encourage openness and transparency. In fact even the glass conference room is positioned in the centre of the space, in plain view of staff and visitors. With additions kept to a minimum and the workstations freestanding, I love the expansive glass window surrounds and beautifully curated clusters of designer furniture. A little bit industrial, yet still clean and understated, I'm sure the VSCO team are very happy heading into work everyday!
by Lassen have introduced some new products to their AW 2015 collection. The stunning Mesch throw made from 100% Peruvian highland wool features a simple geometric design based on a pattern by architect Mogens Lassen. Small but genius, the new Matchbox Cover makes perfect partner for the iconic Kubus range of candle holders the cover. Available in three striking variants this is definitely on my wish list.

Vipp have introduced some exciting new products recently including a daybed and lighting collection. Both reflect the Vipp philosophy of creating timeless pieces that last both functionally and aesthetically. The Vippdaybed is crafted with a 100% aniline leather mattress resting on a solid aluminium frame, while the The Vipplamps collection are made from die-casted, powder-coated aluminium with details in stainless steel. Finally, the highly anticipated book, The Kinfolk Home is now out. As soon as I heard the first whispers of this book I pre-ordered mine and have been waiting months for its release! It's arrival yesterday had me jumping for joy. Sitting pretty on my office shelves below, the book features 35 homes around the world. Each one reflects the values of slow living: cultivating community, simplifying our lives and reclaiming time for what matters most. I highly recommend adding this to your collection.

Under new creative director Anna Teurnell, who was formerly head of design at & Other Stories, Finnish Design House Marimekko is launching a new collection of textiles and vases. The gorgeous new pieces have been designed by renowned Scandinavian glass designer Carina Seth Andersson. Dream team Lotta Agaton and Petra Bindel have done an amazing job of styling and photographing the campaign imagery, which you can see more of here.
Those of us in the southern hemisphere will have to wait a while for the new collection to reach us, but still plenty on offer in the current winter collection. I especially love the Ruutu-Unikko pattern in the soft grey and white. It works beautifully as both bedding and as table runner. For those who love brights, the bold colours and patterns that Marimekko are known for pack a punch against the monochrome backdrop.

When the opportunity arose to style some of the Houston Design Co Ceramics from LET LIV I didn't think twice. Handmade in NZ, the collection features a range of pieces that are both beautiful and functional. Available in both white and black sand, the latter has been created with white clay mixed together with black sand from Muriwai and the result is truly stunning. Keeping us on our toes with the latest arrivals, LET LIV have recently added the new Coffee Tumblers, with the introduction of a Matte Black finish, and gorgeous little Creamer to their collection.
With a mix of dinnerware including the Dinner Plates, Pasta Bowls, Side Plates and Small Dishes, I decided to create a spring-inspired table setting. The warmer months equate to lots of entertaining and these ceramics will no doubt be the talking point of any dinner party. But they are also perfect for everyday meals and cups of tea and coffee. When it comes to choosing colour combinations, you really can't go wrong. Whether it be a couple of pieces in one colour, or a whole dinner set in a mix of colours, the pieces all work together beautifully. And I love that each one is unique, helping to create that wonderfully organic, relaxed vibe so many of us want to achieve right now.
Styling and photography by Michelle Halford for TDCFar too pretty to hide away, I've been storing my new ceramics in full display on the shelf and kitchen island and I can't stop admiring them! Something to add to your own Christmas wish list, these ceramics would also make the perfect gift for a loved one. Additional Products:

When I think of interior wall styling it's usually paint, art and shelving that spring to mind. That may not seem like many elements but within these there are so many different options to consider such as paint colour, art and shelf styles and configurations. For today's post I've gathered up some recent finds that fall into each of these three categories. If it's wallpaper you want help with, I've got that covered too. Keep reading to find out more! Featuring the beautiful and versatile KK daybed designed by Charlotte Hönckeby for Danish furniture company KlipKlap, this styling presents three different ideas for walls. Personally I love the earthy green wall and simple wooden shelf. The pretty pink wall features a lovely arrangement of prints. It also goes to show that you don't necessary have to pay for framing to create a great picture wall. Muted green and brown tones are becoming increasingly popular, but greys are still having their moment. The two-toned wall in the last image is very effective and provides a real focal point, especially with the striking artworks.Styling by Laura Trøstrup/The Sweet Spot / photographed by Bjarni B. JacobsenThese next images feature another earthy wall colour I'm loving right now. Part of a styling project by dutch magazine VTWonen, it also demonstrates some great ideas for creating beautiful art with black and white photographs. The article suggests sourcing some from books or the web and printing them in black and white, or for a nostalgic effect, sepia. Using your own photography creates a unique and personal touch. The first has been printed on to canvas and clamped between two wooden slats. It can then be hung on the wall with a rope. In the last image, the photos have been sourced via Pinterest and printed on to grey cardboard which softens the overall effect. The composition, created by leaning some against the wall on a bench and one hung above, is also beautiful.
Styling by Cleo Scheulderman and photography by Jeroen van der Spek Placed on the wall in the living room, bedroom, office or hallway, shelves are not only look great, they provide a practical storage solution. The simple spice-rack style shelves are prefect for storing and displaying your favourite magazines. For something more modular, the new Zutik by French brand Alki is all about versatility. Organised around a slimline oak beam, it comes with a range of options including magnetic wall panels, padded pinboards, suspended shelving and even a ladder.Clerkenwell London / photography by Ed Reeve

I first introduced you to Sly, the Melbourne-based homeware brand late last year, when they launched with a gorgeous range of screen-printed Textiles. Inspired by Scandinavian design, Sly's continuously evolving range is thoughtful, considered and executed with love. I was really excited to see their latest products, a collection of Art Deco-inspired Trivets. Precision cut from natural bamboo, they are both lightweight and durable. With two sizes on offer including a Large Trivet and and Set of Four Small Trivets, they are not only practical, they create a striking feature on any table or benchtop.Images courtesy of SlyI think Sly Founder, designer Lauren Finks read my mind when she sent me a set of the four small Trivets to test out. NZ-based Lingerie brand Lonely has just opened their highly anticipated flagship store in Wellington. Like their first, Lonely Ponsonby, which recently won two golds and a purple pin at the Best Awards, the new space is absolutely exquisite. Designed by Lonely CEO Steve Ferguson and Rufus Knight of Knight Associates, Lonely Wellington continues with an atmosphere of intimacy, elegance and warmth while aiming to capture the quiet intellect of the Wellington customer with materials and finishes more suited to their cooler climate. The mix of hard and soft surfaces is once again evident, but the materials and textures that were previously refined and sleek are now muted, softened, and more tactile. Marble, brass and and velvet combine beautifully across a palette of warm grey, earthy green, and deep purple. Centred around Lonely’s theme of sophistication and simplicity, every single detail has been carefully considered, resulting in a space that focuses on the customer and their experience.
Two of my favourite elements of the new boutique are the lighting which includes the incredible Tip of the Tongue Lamp by Michael Anastassiades and the beautiful custom-made rugs. A collaboration with Nodi, who I recently partnered with for this post, they are made from handwoven jute, and provide a key feature throughout the store, adding both texture and warmth. Photography by Simon WilsonWhile those of us in NZ are getting to experience these incredible flagship stores, Lonely is also making waves on a global scale. With over 245K followers on Instagram, Lonely lingerie is sold in Selfridges, David Jones and on Net-A-Porter. With the Award-winning Lonely Ponsonby described by judges as having a "superb, international quality fitout that would hold its own in any fashion district" I suspect this is just the beginning. Tessuti is one of my favourite homeware stores to visit in Auckland. With a natural talent for curating beautiful products, owner Ali McIntosh is also passionate about creators, having recently started hosting a series of Meet the Maker evenings in store. Drawn to products that tell a story, Ali supports small artisan communities, with Tessuti introducing us to some incredible creative initiatives from around the world. One of these is Facteur Céleste, a range of black and white baskets produced by a group of women in the impoverished African nation of Burkina Faso. Striking to look at (and a dream to style), they are actually hand-made from plastic bags. A real plague for the environment, the Facteur Céleste workshop is not only helping to eradicate pollution through this incredible artistic recycling, it is enabling women in need. Set up by Delphine Kohler who founded the non-profit organisation Filles du Facteur in 2008, the idea came from the unique Facteur Celeste lifestyle boutique in Paris, where workshops were held to find creative uses for recycling plastic bags. By introducing the idea to Burkina Faso, Delphine has enabled the women to achieve financial independence as well as access to health and eduction.
As you can see the gorgeous monochrome baskets add a touch of texture and vibrancy to any room. Available in a range of sizes and unique designs, they are also really practical. Strong and durable, they are perfect for housing plants, but you can use them for all kinds of storage. I've used them here for my jewellery and office bits and bobs, but they'd also be ideal for the bedside, bathroom products or even as a fruit bowl in the kitchen.
Styling and photography by Michelle Halford for TDCThe baskets are available exclusively from Tessuti, both online and in store. This is a sponsored post. For more information, please visit my About Page.

While many of us are still recovering from the excitement of their last update, norsu interiors have been hard at work on some wonderful new projects which I'm delighted to share with you today. The first is a collaboration with the artist Jenny Liz Rome, which follows on beautifully from the Ruben Ireland launch earlier this year. In fact I was very interested to discover that norsu's best selling print, Marianna, is a collaborative illustration between Ruben Ireland and Jenny Liz Rome. Based in Ontario, Canada, Jenny launched her career in 2009 after graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. Seeking to create a style she could completely call her own Jenny experimented with different themes and ideas, in particular those of femininity and the wild. Her first post-grad body of work "Ladies Of The Flies" led her into the world of fashion illustration, working for companies like Marie Claire, UNDIZ, Hairhouse Warehouse, SONY, and Colombia Records. These days Jenny's work can be found all over the globe in galleries and design stores.
Seeing her illustrations in many of their favourite Scandinavian homes via Instagram and other design forums, norsu founders Kristy Sadlier and Nat Wheeler say that securing Jenny's work was a no brainer - the dramatic nature of her works, teamed with their extreme femininity and beauty makes them the perfect addition to their collection."Over recent months, we have seen huge interest in Ruben Ireland's striking and bold prints, and a complete surge in our fashion prints from artists such as Magdalena Tyboni and Via Martine. For us, Jenny's work represents the ultimate merge between both aesthetics, and is an absolute winner in our books."To begin with norsu are releasing five prints, with plans to expand their range over time. These include Bear #2, Bear #3 and Rose #2 which have been chosen because of their synergies with Marianna. "We want to bring our customers on a journey, and provide them with an ability to grow their existing art collections with ease."Lions and Bears Party was selected because of its landscape orientation which is becoming increasingly popular for those creating gallery walls in their homes, while Kristy and Nat say that Bright Pink Part 2 was just too pretty not to include!
Styling by norsu interiors and photography by Stu Morleynorsu are also looking forward to future print releases which they say have a softer palette and are absolutely breathtaking!
All prints are available in 61 x 91cm, to fit perfectly in the new large sized Ikea frames. The release of these prints coincides with the recent opening of the norsu ART LAB, the first purpose built gallery space dedicated to Scandinavian art within Australia. Located within the newly renovated norsu store, which as you can see has now doubled in size, this is a truly unique and exciting concept. Seeing more and more of their customers embracing the Scandinavian gallery wall trend within their own homes, this visually eye-catching space provides them with the perfect destination to easily select art.
The offer is valid for Australian and New Zealand residents only until midnight Sunday 15th November.
Enjoy!!

A big round up today featuring new finds at home and further afield, I hope you enjoy these as much as I do!

Their latest release, the Certified Organic Coco+Nut Oil features a luscious blend of nutritious oils including sweet almond, macadamia nut and apricot kernel. Sweet-smelling and incredibly moisturising, it is also rich in Vitamin E, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant thanks to a healthy dose of cold-pressed coconut oil. As well as giving summer skin a much-needed hydration boost, this multipurpose marvel can also be used in hair and as a body moisturiser, making it an absolute must-have for the bathroom cupboard! As part of the launch I've also been enjoying this amazing jar of muesli created by Angela Merrie, founder of Pretty Damn Good For You. I'm sure most of you will be familiar with the remarkable work of Pia Ulin. One of the first photographers I ever profiled here on TDC, Pia's impressive career spans more than 20 years. Gaining a reputation early on for using only daylight, her images have a warm and natural touch often associated with a Scandinavian aesthetic. Dividing her time between her studio in Brooklyn, New York, and her family in Sweden, she works with a variety of interior stylists and on international interior publications. These include two of my favourite books Monochrome Home with Hilary Robertson and The Kinfolk Home. One of 35 incredible residences featured in The Kinfolk Home, this home is simply awe-inspiring. The natural light and warmth of the wood has been captured beautifully by Pia. Isn't the effect on the staircase dreamy? As predicted since spotting this home on the weekend it's been doing the rounds, but you can see why. Too good not to share, the simple relaxed spaces have a lovely sense of harmony. The neutral palette, mix of old and new furniture and statement lighting are just some of the elements that come to together to achieve such wonderful warmth and balance. The living room is one of my favourite areas, featuring an offset grouping of art, incredible wall hanging and really low hung Mass Light by & Tradtion. I also love the dining room, where the original flooring and beautiful rattan chairs really standout. The picture wall and Flos 265 Lamp are also amazing! As a fan of the Fujifilm instax cameras - the boys have a cute Mini 8 and I have the classic Mini 90 - I jumped at the chance of testing out the new instax SHARE. A very clever wee piece of technology, it allows you to print directly from your smart phone. Great for instantly sharing memories, it has given me the chance to do something I've wanted to do for ages - print off some of my favourite photos as Polaroids! I simply went through my camera roll and picked out some recent favourites, many of which were actually taken on my Nikon camera. You can also print images that you've uploaded to Instagram and Facebook and you can make copies with the Reprint button. It's super easy to use. You simply download the free instax SHARE App, sync your smartphone Wi-Fi with the instax printer, select an image and print! The app also offers filters to choose from and lots of fun templates, which you can read about here. Styling and photography by Michelle Halford for TDC
I'm so happy with my first round I can't wait to load up some more film and print more! If you're in NZ, find out where to buy here, otherwise visit Fujifilm Global.
